Nuit Blanche

5 10 2008

Last night was Nuit Blanche (the all-night arts/culture thing in Toronto). The coolest thing I saw: the windows of City Hall were turned into an interactive display. When we got to Nathan Phillips Square, there was a giant game of Pong on display on the City Hall windows, which made me very happy, and made someone else nearby very happy. “It’s PONG!” he shrieked, rapturously.

Second-coolest thing I saw: a gallery containing skull sculptures. The best one was a skull with glasses. Each of the lenses of the glasses was a hologram of another skull. Me like.

Third-coolest thing: someone lit up Trinity Bellwoods Park with hundreds of blinking rear bicycle lights.

I didn’t stay out all night, as I was too tired from walking – got home at 4 am. Fortunately, the subway ran all night as far as Broadview Station, which is exactly where I wanted to go. How convenient!
