So I got a phone call tonight from somebody wanting to conduct a survey on behalf of Rogers Cable. They said the survey would take about 10 to 15 minutes, so I begged off because I have a cold (which happens to actually be true).

What startled me about the call was that my call display listed it as an overseas number starting with 011 41. I looked up the country code, assuming it would be somewhere such as India – and it turns out to be the country code for Switzerland.

Why would Rogers Cable establish a call centre in Switzerland? Or, if they’re actually based somewhere else, why would their phone number be in Switzerland? And who is the unlucky person who is forced to be awake at what would be very late at night their time to call reluctant Rogers Cable customers to try to get them to complete a survey?
