I’ll Be On My Way

26 07 2012

While walking to work today, some old-school reggae came up on my iPod:

Gregory Isaacs was one of the most popular reggae musicians in Jamaica in the late 1970s and early 1980s. He died of lung cancer in 2010.

This reminds me of another song of the same title:

The Beatles recorded this for broadcast by the BBC in 1963. They eventually gave it to Billy J. Kramer, who recorded it as the B-side of their version of Lennon and McCartney’s “Do You Want To Know A Secret”.

If you like this song, you would probably enjoy listening to Buddy Holly, as the vocal harmonies are very similar.
