“Let’s Go Trippin'” by Dick Dale and the Del-Tones

2 08 2013

A couple of my recent posts have mentioned surf music. No discussion of surf music is possible without Dick Dale and the Del-Tones:

This song, recorded in 1961, is credited with launching the surf music craze of the early 1960s. Dale, who was born Richard Anthony Monsour, is nicknamed The King Of The Surf Guitar. His best-known song, “Misirlou” (a Middle Eastern folk song), was used as the theme song in the movie Pulp Fiction. He is now in his mid-seventies, but is still touring.
