“Shakin’ All Over” by The Guess Who

A couple of days back, I was writing about Trooper, describing them as Canadian cultural icons. If you want Canadian cultural icon, you really don’t have to look farther than The Guess Who. Here’s their first single, from 1965, back before Burton Cummings joined the band:

At the time this was released, the band was named Chad Allen and The Expressions, but their record company decided to market the single as being by “Guess Who?” in an attempt to drum up interest. As a result, they were forced to change their name. Allan, the original front man, left in 1966; keyboard player Cummings took over as lead singer, and you probably know the rest.
